Historic Downtown Charleston is divided into various neighborhoods and specific regions known widely to the locals, and some of this is to be learned if you want to call Charleston your home. SOB or South of Broad designates one of the most luxurious and high-end residential neighborhoods in the city with multi-million dollar homes with Azalea & Camellia filled gardens and Ornate Gates as plentiful as pennies in the fountain. When you want to experience this environment, you might check out the Rice Beds at Two Meeting Street, one of the most quaint Bed & Breakfast locations in town where one Rides by to gawk from a Horse and Carriage Tour on their way to view the old defenses of the city, an array of artillery sitting proudly waterside. When looking for a condo, Sumter House was converted years ago from a reputable hotel to condos and is located right on the South Battery Park with views of Charleston Harbor, but my favorite would actually be up the street. Pass by the picturesque Rainbow Row (row houses known for their pastel coloring) to find Factor's Walk or Vendue Range, both located in the attached subsection of the French Quarter which is easily recognized by the Cobblestone Streets. On the way, Tradd Street is another favorite street of mine mostly because of its location, but again the history shouts out from the walls of these homes. If history intrigues you, here is where to find that dream home or a sought after Charleston Single with a Joggling Board on the front porch sitting among the Moss Laden Oaks. But history abounds from this point towards the Waterfront Park on Concord Street off East Bay, a gathering spot for any bright day at the welcoming Pineapple Fountain, and a quick stroll away from the historic Market Place with an opportunity to view the Sweetgrass Baskets and perhaps even munch on Boiled Nuts or Sweet Pecans, or devour some Oysters , Blue Crab or Hoppin' Johns. Action vibrates here with a quick walk to your local pub or favorite restaurant to indulge in a local favorite of Shrimp and Grits. All the best are within a stone's throw from this area.   A quick stop at 375 Meeting Street's Visitor Center will provide maps of the area. Here you can learn about the  Tours and Attractions of the area. A visit to the Angel Oak makes a nice car trip in addition to a visit to a Plantation to see the Sea Island Cotton. Garden and house tours are the favorites, but visiting forts is another popular activity of many visitors to Charleston, so between house hunting, make sure to take a little time to enjoy what this city has to offer and learn about the Charleston Bonnet and other historic remembrances. Ft. Moultrie is the site demonstrating the victory of the American Revolution and Ft. Sumter shows the scene of the first shots during the Civil War. There is a water shuttle from near the Aquarium to Palm Covered Patriot's Point where one catches another boat tour out to Ft. Sumter with views of Lighthouses and Bottle Nosed Dolphins beside you. And a trip to Charleston wouldn't be complete without crossing the Ravenel Bridge for a walk on the beach for collectables or a few Shells  by the Sea Oats and viewing the Wood Storks.or check out the waterways for Spottail Bass.
